This privacy notice explains how we collect information about you, how it is used and kept secure, your privacy choices when using our website, and your right to access your information under the KVKK, GDPR and other data protection standards applicable in member cities.

What information do we collect?

When you register for an account on the B40 Network Open Data Portal, we will ask you to provide your e-mail address, a username and a password. You will also be given an opportunity to sign up for our monthly B40 Network Open Data Portal newsletter.

What do we use it for?

The information you provide will be used to create and administer your account for the B40 Network Open Data Portal and to provide you with your log on credentials to access your B40 Network Open Data Portal account.

Where you provide your consent for us to do so, your e-mail address will be used to send you our monthly B40 Network Open Data Portal newsletter, but only where you have signed up for it.

Who has access to your information?
• Your user name can be seen by everyone when the data request is made and comments are made in the Data Request Panel of B40 Network Open Data Portal. For your data security, you need to set your username in a way that cannot be matched with your personal data and does not affect your anonymity. All responsibility for username preference rests with you.
• Your email address is only accessible to B40 Network and our third-party web developers.
• Your password is not viewable by anyone.

Where is your information held?

B40 Network Open Data Portal and all information collected through it is hosted on Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM)’s servers located within Istanbul/Turkey and accessible only to the appropriate parties as stated above.

Updating your information

Should you wish to change your account settings you can do so using the Edit Profile page of the web site. From this page, you can change your username, password and e-mail address.
